This was a very special day in County Sligo, West of Ireland. It started with a gorgeous ride in the picturesque village, Grange, and ended with a stunning walk on the beach in a tiny seaside town, Inniscrone (Inis Crabhann).
These beautiful horses are known as Irish cobs. They're traditional weight carriers, bred to pull bow top wagons and known for a sweet disposition and love of people. And that’s true, except when we approached the beach, my playful three-year old gelding suddenly decided to go at full gallop. All I can say is thank heavens I have some experience with horses, and also that the guide happened to be nearby. For a brief moment, I thought I would slip out of the saddle! Aside from that, the ride was unforgettable, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
